STEP TWO

Why wait? Start your adventure with our top-rated home study program. At your convenience, and in the comfort of your own home, you review the text, watch a full motion DVD & complete a simple study guide. STEP 2 prepares you to comfortably understand & complete STEPS 3 & 4.

STEP THREE

After your academic & equipment review session, it’s off to the pool to become comfortable and proficient with your new scuba skills and equipment handling under the guidance of our professional instructor. (Allow 2 full days)

STEP FOUR

Let’s GO DIVING! You will join your instructor for 1 snorkel dive and 4 exciting boat dives. It is here you will apply all the knowledge & skills acquired previously!

Situated right on the marina at Mooloolaba Wharf we are the only centre on the Sunshine Coast which has its own dive training tank, classroom, showers, personal lock-up storage area and showroom, all in the one convenient location.

There’s plenty of parking on site at UnderWater World and our dive vessel departs right outside our centre – everything is in one handy location (there’s plenty of shopping and dining facilities here too).

Smaller Class Sizes:
To ensure that you receive the personal attention you deserve and work at a pace that you and your class-mates are comfortable with, we limit each class to 6 students. (Some dive schools have 10 students per class; we understand that this can be quite intimidating for beginners).

Fun from Head to Fin!
Scuba education from Scuba Schools International (SSI) is the best way to start your scuba adventure. Why? Our training programs are designed with one goal in mind: for you to have serious fun when you dive! And the only way to have a great time diving is to become truly comfortable with the skills and the equipment you’ll use.

All Scuba World staff are experienced and friendly and have been personally trained by Ian McKinnon who has been diving since 1974. Ian achieved the highest instructor rating for PADI in 1985 and has been an SSI Instructor/Certifier since 1988

Who Can Dive?
Learners need to be over 14 years of age, in good physical condition and have reasonable swimming skills.

When Can I Learn?
You can choose either a mid-week or a weekend course. You do two days in the pool and classroom and two days of ocean boat dives.

What Do I Need?
Your course fees include your own personal snorkeling system as well as the hire of specialised scuba equipment but you will need your own personal snorkeling system - mask, snorkel, fins and boots - which you can hire for $25 a day or buy from Scuba World.
We recommend that you invest in your own set to ensure a proper fit, sanitation, comfort, convenience, economy and safety.

Try Before You Dive
Scuba World offers a one hour Scuba Experience for $90 for anyone who would like to try scuba diving before they decide to do a full diving course. Once you decide to enrol in our course your $90 will be refunded in full. Please call one of our friendly staff to book. (some health restrictions may apply)
