Notes for Diving the Brisbane

  1. Certified divers ONLY allowed to dive the Brisbane
  2. For the very first dive on the Brisbane every diver must be lead by a Dive Guide regardless of their experience or qualification.
  3. Certified divers must be lead by a qualified Dive Guide if they have not logged experience below 18 metres and/or have less than 9 logged dives.
  4. Less than 20 logged dives- NO penetration of the Brisbane unless accompanied by a qualified dive guide on a 4:1 ratio
  5. More than 20 logged dives but less than 50 logged dives- able to penetrate the Brisbane provided the depth is no greater than 18 metres and provided diver is accompanied by a qualified Dive Guide. Warning: Must not become light locked from the outside
  6. More than 50 logged dives and provided the diver has logged experience beyond 18 metres no restrictions on depth or penetration except Must not become light locked from the outside
  7. Must have wreck penetration/cave specialty if there is a possibility of being light locked

N.B. We normally spend the one hour surface interval inside the harbour (trip back only takes 10 minutes). It is much more relaxing enjoying morning tea and pretty well eliminates sea-sickness.
