Shark Dives at UnderWater World
The Shark Dives at UnderWater World give divers the exciting opportunity to get up close and personal with the endangered grey nurse shark as well as sand bar whaler sharks, wobbegong and white tip reef sharks. Divers are just centimeters away from the blotched fan tail rays, coachwhip rays, leopard rays, and myriad of pelagic and tropical fish. You don't need to be a certified diver to participate in the Shark Dives. Scuba World include a diving lesson directly before the Shark Diving experience to allow divers to be comfortable breathing under water. This insures they are well prepared for the Shark Dive.
The Shark Dives are aimed at people who are comfortable in the water and have a minimum age of 14 years. The divers must complete a medical questionnaire before commencing the dive. Scuba World staff are highly trained and experienced. There are a maximum number of five divers in a group and the group is supervised at all times by a qualified, insured diving instructor. The whole experience takes ninety minutes, of which thirty minutes is spent under water in the Shark Oceanarium at UnderWater World. The Shark Dives can be conducted in any weather because UnderWater World is completely undercover. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions page.
Grey Nurse Shark Birth - It's A Girl!!A new addition to the UnderWater World aquarium family has been achieved with the birth of a 1 metre long baby Grey Nurse Shark nicknamed ‘Freckles’. The Grey Nurse Shark is critically endangered along the East Coast of Australia with an estimate of only 500 remaining in the wild. Scuba World operates the fully escorted Shark Dives at UnderWater World. Scuba World is located at The Wharf, Mooloolaba on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Scuba World is located right next door to UnderWater World in the same complex. Mooloolaba is situated one hour's drive North of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland and fifteen minute drive from the Sunshine Coast International Airport.

Our 100% safety record is considered one of the finest in the Australian recreational diving industry. While the sharks are large (up to three meters in length) and come right up to the diver they are considered docile.
